How good an Explain Pain-er are you?

The BiM Sydney team at Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA) are recruiting for 2 positions; a full time PhD student and a research officer for an NHMRC funded randomised controlled trial.

The PhD is to start in semester 1, (March 2013).   The ideal candidate is a clinician who uses Explain Pain in their practice and who has research experience to qualifies him or her for a scholarship (1st class honours or at least 2 publications).  The student should have either Aust/NZ citizenship/permanent residency or an excellent academic transcript that makes him/her eligible for a University of New South Wales international scholarship.

The research officer will oversee the set up and day to day running of the RCT for up to 2 years.  The ideal candidate will have a PhD and be experienced in setting up and managing a clinical research study set in primary care.  This will include identifying and recruiting clinicians (GPs/physiotherapists/chiropractors) in the Sydney metropolitan area, ensuring adherence to the trial protocol and other day to day trial related tasks.

Both positions will require travel in Sydney so the applicant should have a car.
